Booking Conditions

Effective 18 October 2026.

These conditions apply to every booking of tours, transfers, accommodation, Nile cruises, events and other services that a tour operator, travel agent or other business customer (the “partner”) makes with Sakkara Group International or its brands, Sakkara Tours and Sakkara Nile Cruises (“we”, “us”). We sell to business customers only.

Each booking is made with the company named in our written booking confirmation. Where a signed trade agreement, contract or booking confirmation sets different terms — including rates, payment, cancellation, allotment or release terms — those terms prevail over these conditions to the extent they differ.

1. Quotations and rates

Quotations are made on request, are valid for the period they state, and are subject to availability at the time of booking. Rates are net rates for the partner’s own use, quoted in the currency stated, and are confidential: the partner must not publish them or disclose them to its clients or to third parties. Unless the quotation says otherwise, rates exclude international flights, visas, insurance, tips and personal expenses. If a quotation contains an obvious error, we may correct it before the booking is confirmed.

2. Confirmation

A booking is binding only when we confirm it in writing. The partner must check the confirmation as soon as it is received and tell us at once of any error; services are delivered as confirmed.

3. Payment

Deposits and balances are payable in the amounts, currency and by the dates stated in the booking confirmation or trade agreement. Bank charges are paid by the partner. If payment is not received when due, we may cancel the booking and apply the cancellation charges below, and we may charge interest on late payments where the law allows. Any credit terms apply only where agreed in writing.

4. Price changes

Confirmed prices may be revised before the date of service only to reflect changes we cannot control, such as government taxes, fees and entrance charges, fuel surcharges or official exchange-rate movements, and we will notify the partner in writing with the reason.

5. Changes and cancellations by the partner

Requests to change or cancel a booking must be made in writing and take effect when we receive them. Amendment charges, and cancellation charges as a percentage of the booking value, apply as stated in the booking confirmation or trade agreement. In every case the partner is responsible for any non-refundable costs we have already incurred with suppliers, such as hotel, cruise, flight or event commitments. No refund is due for no-shows, late arrivals or services not used. Allotments are released on the dates agreed; unsold space after the release date returns to us.

6. Changes and cancellations by us

Tourism in Egypt depends on conditions that can change, including Nile navigation and water levels, lock schedules, site opening hours and the decisions of authorities. We may change an itinerary, the order of visits, a vessel, hotel, guide or vehicle, and will provide an alternative of equivalent standard wherever possible. If we must cancel a confirmed booking for a reason other than force majeure or the partner’s default, we will offer an alternative or a refund of the amounts paid to us for the cancelled services, and we have no further liability.

7. Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing a booking, or for any change, cancellation or extra cost, caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These include war, threat of war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action or advice against travel, closure of airspace, borders, ports or sites, epidemics and public health measures, natural disasters, extreme weather, fire, Nile navigation conditions, strikes, and the failure of utilities or transport. In such cases we will try to provide alternatives; amounts we cannot recover from suppliers are not refundable.

8. The partner’s responsibilities

  • The partner contracts with its own clients and is responsible to them for the package or arrangements it sells, including any obligations it has as an organiser or retailer under the law of its own country.
  • The partner must give us complete and accurate traveller details in good time, and pass on to its clients all information we provide that is relevant to their travel.
  • The partner is responsible for making sure its clients hold valid passports, visas and any health documents required, and are advised to hold adequate travel insurance.
  • The partner is responsible for its clients’ conduct. We or our suppliers may refuse service to anyone whose behaviour puts others at risk, without refund, and the partner must pay for any damage they cause.
  • The partner must have a lawful basis to share its clients’ personal data with us, including explicit consent for any health or other sensitive information.

9. Suppliers

Services such as flights, trains, cruise vessels we do not operate, hotels we do not own, and events run by others are provided by independent suppliers under their own terms. Where we arrange them, we act as an intermediary. Carriage by air, sea or rail is subject to the conditions of the carrier and to applicable international conventions, which may limit liability.

10. Liability

We are responsible for providing the services we confirm with reasonable skill and care. To the extent the law allows:

  • our total liability for any claim arising from a booking is limited to the price paid to us for the services that gave rise to the claim;
  • we are not liable for any loss of profit, business, revenue or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss;
  • we are not liable for loss or damage caused by the partner, its clients, a third party unconnected with the services, or force majeure.

Nothing in these conditions excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for fraud or gross negligence.

11. Indemnity

The partner will indemnify us against any claim brought by its clients or by third parties, and any related loss and costs, except to the extent the claim results from our own breach of these conditions or our negligence.

12. Complaints

Any problem during a trip must be reported immediately to our local representative or guide, so that we can try to resolve it on the spot. Any complaint must then be sent to us in writing within 30 days after the end of the services concerned. We cannot accept liability for complaints not reported in this way.

13. Confidentiality and non-circumvention

Our rates, terms and supplier arrangements are confidential. During our business relationship and for two years after it ends, the partner must not contract directly with suppliers introduced through us for the services we provide, in order to avoid us.

14. Personal data

Each of us handles the personal data of travellers as a separate controller and in line with the data protection law that applies to it. How we handle it is explained in our Privacy Policy.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These conditions, every booking, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The courts of Cairo, Egypt, have exclusive jurisdiction.

16. General

If any part of these conditions is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force. A failure or delay by us in enforcing any part of them is not a waiver of it. The partner may not transfer a booking or its rights under it without our written agreement. These conditions are written in English; if they are translated, the English version prevails. We may update them; the version published on the date a booking is confirmed applies to that booking.
